Description: On the foot of Himalayas, on the west bank of Ganges is situated the gateway to Lord Vishnu, i.e., Haridwar. It is also called Ganga-Dwara, because the holy Ganges enters the plains here. This is one of the seven holy cities in India. It is called Mayapuri Kshetra in the Puranas. Haridwar is about 225 kilometers northeast of Delhi. Haridwar is famous for its temples, bathing ghats and tanks. The Ganges, considered as the holiest river in India, is the star attraction of Haridwar. Pilgrims carry back the water from the Ganges, which they believe will remain fresh forever.
Itinerary Details:
Day 01 ) Arrive Delhi * On to Haridwar (215 kms / approx. 5 hour drive) Welcome to Delhi, the Grand Capital of India. On arrival at Delhi airport or Delhi railway station, begin your tour of 'Haridwar'. Proceed on a picturesque drive to Haridwar. On arrival, check into your hotel. The rest of the evening is at leisure.
Day 02 ) In Haridwar
This morning, after breakfast visit the temples and the Ghats at Haridwar covering the Mansa Devi Temple, Gurukul Kangri University, and Bharat Mata Temple. In the evening witness the Ganga Aarti at the Har-Ki-Pauri.
Day 03 ) On to Delhi (215 kms / approx. 5 hour drive) * Return home with happy memories. Today, bid farewell to your 'Haridwar' tour as you transfer to Delhi airport or Delhi railway station for your onward journey.
